Walking (& Running) Through a Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland

These photographs come from the 10th annual Winter Wonderland 5K Run/Walk at Topeka’s Lake Shawnee on November 20. The race is held a week before the grand opening of the long-running Winter Wonderland light show. Participants pass through the two-mile-long holiday light display that attracts carloads from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve. These events support TARC, a not-for-profit organization providing support for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Whether you are a donor, subscriber or casual viewer, each of you plays a crucial role in supporting The Heart & Soul of Kansas Sports. Thank you for that inspiring gift. I am humbled to travel the state photographing the joys of Kansans competing in sports in this great state. I hope that the smiles, cheers, and tears that come from these remarkable athletic efforts are gifts to you. Merry Christmas.

“Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth and goodwill to all.”
